McCullum sees Pakistan Test series as 'monumental'

KARACHI (Web Desk) - England Test coach Brendon McCullum said on Tuesday that his team is returning to England with "positive memories of their time" in Pakistan.

After England defeated Pakistan 3-0 in the Test Series, Mr.McCullum was expressing his feelings. Intriguingly, he said that Pakistan’s performance had also persuaded him, saying that there had been times during the series when both teams had been close to win the matches.

Mr McCullum showered the grounds staff with praise, saying, "It was wonderful how different pitches were created for each match.” At reference to the Test match in Rawalpindi, McCullum stated, "The pitch there was flat therefore we came up with the concept to play swiftly, thus we got enough of time to bowl the opposition."

According to Mr McCullum, the wicket in Karachi was typical of those found in the subcontinent.

In response to a question on the cricket team’s strength, Mr McCullum said, "I am not of the opinion that the players’ confidence is shattered by the fear of losing. It will assist the players perform well if they are instructed to play courageous cricket.”
